The Fort Worth City Council meets Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. followed by a closed executive session. Items on the agenda include, but are not limited to, the following:
- The council will be passing the ordinances ordering a local election to allow the sale of beer and wine for off-site consumption and mixed beverages in restaurants in the portions of Fort Worth that currently do not sell alcohol. These areas were annexed to the city after alcohol was legalized. The elections will take place November 4th.
- The council will be authorizing various purchases, such as golf course bunker sand and 70 Mobile Video Recording Systems and 100 Wireless Microphone Upgrade Kits for FWPD.
- The city will be authorizing gas pipeline to be installed at Greenway Park Located at 2013 East Belknap Street. They will also be authorizing subsurface drilling at Lake Como Park. Both agendas will be followed by a public hearing including citizen presentations and ending in action by the council.
- There will be two public hearings involving proposed service plans for acreage in Tarrant County.

I'm never sure what dry areas try to accomplish. Drive business and money out of their city? That's a good way of doing it. Decrease drunk driving? I guess that logic works for people too lazy to drive to the next county over and stock up.
