Woman pick-pocket in Hurst makes stealing a family affair

6

It's that time again. The Hurst Police Department has released its weekly Crime Updates for both businesses and residences within the city. The following crimes were reported between Sunday August 3 and Saturday August 9th:

That's more like it.

That's more like it.

Armoire assault

At 2 p.m. on Sunday a theft occurred in a nursing home at 2700 Hurstview Drive. That's right, someone stole from a senior citizen. Specifically, a purse was taken from a resident's armoire (a unit of old-people furniture).

Take your daughter to jail day

A shopper at retail store on 1400 W Pipeline Road was robbed by another shopper who used "distraction techniques" in order to take her wallet from her purse. The suspect then used the stolen credit cards. The suspect was a black female, 30-39 yoa, pink shirt with blue jean capris and had a young girl with her.

Hummer bummer

On Wednesday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., a Hummer H3 SUV parked in a fitness center (100 Harwood Road) was keyed and had its antenna broken off. This act of cowardly vandalism is otherwise known as the bare minimum that should be done to people who drive Hummers.

Fashion faux pass

And on the same Wednesday, between 8 a.m. and noon, a Ford 150 parked at L. D. Bell High School (1600 Brown Trail) was broken into. The side window was shattered, and a bag of clothing inside was rummaged through, though nothing was taken. What a blow to your fashion sense.

Don't you think the folks driving Hummers get enough torment these days with the high price of gas?
