Fort Worth Cats kept Sioux City at Bay, and the Frisco RoughRiders lost to Arkansas, but beat Tulsa. The Rangers tied an American League record... and lost. Cowboys sucked in preseason play but still rivaled the Olympics in ratings. Canadian Dallasite Brett Hull will be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. Dallas will again host a Freedom Run to commemorate 9/11.
Schools: Best Southwest Citizen says Lancaster ISD is worse than ever, and one of its board members resigned. Dallas Progress reports on a new college football game coming to the Cotton Bowl. Dallas South takes issue with WFAA's high school sports coverage. Richardson Echo explains the TEA's ratings.
