Irving code enforcement officers evict hundreds from their apartment homes
Residents of the Vista Del Lago Apartments in Irving were told on Friday morning (Aug. 15) that they'd have to remove all their belongings and vacate by the end of the day.
This due to Fire Chief Mike Evitts' stated determination that the roofs of the building were "on the verge of collapse" and that the wiring in the buildings was "bad."
Those with no other place to go are being put up at a nearby Ramada Inn (on the city's tab) for the time being.
