Police bust Corsicana cockfighting operation Saturday
For the second time since March in Navarro County, police busted an illegal cockfighting operation. About 80 people were arrested Saturday night, many charged with animal cruelty, at the Corsicana facility that was built specifically for betting on cockfights. A larger number of people at the event only received a ticket, since watching cockfighting without betting is about as illegal as driving over the speed limit. Police seized around $13,000 and 150 birds.

My dad took me to one when I was a kid, I got to watch they guy strap his rooster with these really nasty looking spikes over their spurs at the back of the leg. I watched the fight, I rooted for the rooster. I was gutted when the bird came back bloody and pretty much dead. I thought it was really brutal. I didn't want to go back.
