East Plano to possibly get new “megacomplex”
A new "megacomplex" that would include "acres of restaurants and office space, a football-field-sized movie theater, as well as a nine-story hotel and a conference center" is reportedly in the works for an area of east Plano currently known as Turnpike Commons, a section mostly taken up by technology firms and warehouses. The Plano City Council approved zoning changes for the area at last week's meeting, paving the way for the next step.
Don't get too excited yet, though, as it's still in the early planning stages, and area residents (who, me? I'm all for it!) and Richardson, which neighbors the area, might object to increased traffic.

I want one of those. Not a complex, but that thing in the picture.

Ages ago there was a bar in Deep Ellum that had these amazing (steel maybe?) sculptures that weren’t too terribly far off from that. I can’t remember the name of the bar or the artist but they were really cool. Also really expensive.

Adjacent to the George Bush DART station would be a better location.
