Parker City Council considers logistics for Nastia’s parade
When the Parker City Council meets in regular session on Tues., Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, they'll be addressing the topic of "a parade to honor individuals that achieve EXCELLENCE affecting the city of Parker" and the creation of a funding allowance to expedite same.
It's not hard to figure out where this measure's coming from. Can you say "Beijing?" How about "Nastia?" (Gesundheit.)
The next item on the council's agenda is also Nastia-related, in the sense that it deals with logistics of the parade planned in her honor. We're talking about the closure of a couple of roads on Sat., Aug. 23 - the day of the planned parade. Specifically, FM 2551 and FM 2514 will need to be closed, and resolution 2008-232 is designed to take care of that little matter.
Also on the agenda are more mundane items, such as discussion of the fiscal year 2008-2009 city budget, and consideration of a resolution stating intent to sell certificates of obligation for road projects and water system improvements.
Go, Nastia, go!
