Detroit Tigers 11, Texas Rangers 3
Rangers continue their losing ways.
ARLINGTON The Texas Rangers were done in by yet another one of their colossal pitching mistakes Tuesday night, losing to the Detroit Tigers 11-3 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The loss was the 11th in their last 13 games, and dropped Texas down to 62-65 on the season.
Texas was beaten by yet another young pitcher they gave up on too quickly. Armando Galarraga was released by the Rangers in spring training to make room for Jason Jennings, who has spent the entire season on the disabled list. Galarraga kept the Rangers in check for six innings, becoming the first rookie pitcher to 12 wins on the season.
Rangers starter Vicente Padilla could not keep up with the youngster, giving up five runs before being pulled in the seventh. The Tiger scored nine runs in the seventh, blowing up a 3-1 Texas lead and sending Padilla to his seventh loss of the season.
All of the Rangers runs came on a single swing. Rookie phenom Chris Davis provided all the scoring with a three-run, two-out home run off Galarraga that ended the pitcher's night. Davis finished 2-for-4 and seems to be over his recent five-game slump in which he hit 1-for-18. The home run was also the Rangers' only extra-base hit of the game.

I had the misfortune of witnessing this first hand.
By the 9th, I was bored enough that I started collecting plastic beer cups like a homeless person.
