UPDATED: Woman abducted from Lakewood-area apartment parking lot, robbed, raped, dumped near cemetery miles away

A description of the assailants isn't yet available.

Oh man: Two men abducted

a 51-year-old woman from the parking lot of her apartment complex on La Vista Drive near the Lakewood Country Club Monday at 1:30 a.m. They raped her, took her ATM card, got her pin number, and dumped her at a vacant lot near a cemetery in the 700 block of Elston Drive, a few blocks north of Camp Wisdom Road in Redbird, more than 13 miles away. Police found her at about 3 a.m., which seems amazing. She's at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

UPDATE: Police think the men may have been driving a 2002 Chevy Caprice or Impala with white pinstripes on both sides and a brown leather interior.

That's pretty terrible. At least she's alive.

How horrible. I have lived in East Dallas for most of my life and this hits too close to home. Every once in a while, I will go out late night/early morn. to get something from Walmart (24 hrs.) or 7-11. And many times I am approached by strangers asking for change. That poor woman - I pray she will be alright.

And while on the subject, I am appalled at the Walmart on I30, near Samuell/St. Francis - I used to see officers there standing at the door, watching over the parking lot. I don't see that anymore - and where I once felt safe, I run to my car and thank God I get there okay. What's up with that???? If they are going to be open 24 hrs, they need to provide security-it is not safe in that area.

Hey princess: You sound like you live in my hood. I avoid that whole WalMart complex like the plague. Are you on that side of 30 or the other side (which is where I am).

If you're on my side, you should follow the work of the Ferguson Road Initiative. Lots is being done to clean up our area:

I avoid Walmart like the plague regardless of where they are!

They're a crime magnet... and I won't even take the time to get into how I really feel about them. I'm one of those folks that actively campaigns against Wally-World or any of their off-shoots.
