Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez’ political opponent raises fuss about documentary
DALLAS The political opponents of Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez are making a fuss about a documentary on Dallas jails that was scheduled for airing before the election, when Valdez says she thought it was going to air after the election. So OK, she's either out of the loop or deceptive. Wow, bad, and all that. The documentary isn't being made at this point anyway so it sure looks like Valdez' opponents are digging for dirt.
But speaking of deceptive, consider the way the DMN describes the folks raising the fuss: Their two sources are 1. campaign manager for Lowell Cannaday, who's running against Valdez and 2. chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party. Both involved in the upcoming election, no? But the DMN describes them as "local Republicans":
"Local Republicans say the pre-election air date is proof that Sheriff Valdez viewed the documentary as free national publicity that would give her candidacy a boost in the final days of the campaign."
"Local Republicans" hardly seems an adequate description, given the level of involvement of the "local Republicans" being interviewed.

Thanks for highlighting this. I canceled my subscription to DMN for exactly that - they are lacky's for the Republican party.
Omitting that the 'dirt' diggers is from the GOP slime committee, further proves the that DMN wants to be the Fox TV of the local print media. SHAMEFUL.
