Euless Trinity took the Class 5A championship in 2007-08, so it's no wonder that the HEB-ISD high school tops the Associated Press preseason poll for 2008-09. Of the 20 first place votes available, Trinity received 15. Second on the list and receiving 1 first place vote was Plano High School, followed by Katy (4 first place votes) and Southlake Carroll (0 first place votes).
Rivals.com recently named Euless Trinity the best high school football team in the nation, followed by Armwood in Florida and Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey.
