People with nothing better to do Saturday lined up outside new Fort Worth Apple store
We've seen the lines before outside the Apple store when some new product is released. Such was a similar scene in Fort Worth when the latest Apple store at University Park Village opened its doors Saturday morning. This is the fifth Apple store in DFW.
One can just groan silently thinking about the trendies lined up outside a store to buy products they can easily acquire elsewhere (oh, I don't know, online store? AT&T store?). But among the more upsetting quotes in this S-T story is from a 41-year-old man who had gotten in line at 6 a.m. with no intentions on buying anything. He just wanted to be part of the "phenomenon." There really is no hope for the human race.

I have to admit, we stood in line for about 1.5 hours when Apple released Panther umteen years ago at (stop I have to remember where)... Willow Bend!
Anyway, we hadn't gone to <b>'buy'</b> either - but to just experience the complete electricity of fellow Apple fanatics.
And let me tell you it <b>WAS</b> electric! From teens to seniors, talking, laughing, iPods on, laptops in hand.... card games... it was worth every single minute to both of us just for the <b>sheer experience</b>.
We did it once, I can't imagine ever doing it again. But everyone should do something like this (for what ever item, if only one time) to ride that electric wave.

Yeah, but interacting with people in-line is better than interacting with people on-line, if you get my drift. We are a generation of anonymous hacks hiding behind our keyboards. At least these people are interacting face to to face!

Only if you're an Apple fanboi, snowboard9. Otherwise, you find yourself fighting the urge to slap every person around you...and then yourself for thinking it wouldn't be that bad.

I gotta think "interacting in line at" an Apple Store is the ultimate echo chamber.
For the two of us that haven't printed this out already:

There's a reason I usually prefer to interact online rather than in-line. And that reason is people.
