When Coppell City Council members heed the gavel's call this Tues. (Aug. 26) at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, they'll go into executive session to hash out issues regarding zoning and land purchase.
In their work session, they'll tackle the topic of whether alcohol sales will be allowed at this year's Oaktoberfest celebration (to be held on Sat., Oct. 18 at Andy Brown Park East). In addition, they'll mull over the North Texas Rail situation, including proposed commuter service along the existing Cotton Belt corridor.
When the regular session begins, council will consider having Dallas County execute asphalt paving of city streets including Sanders Loop, Holly Street and Nash Street (S. of Sandy Lake Rd.), with the City of Coppell paying Dallas County $124,886.87 for this service. They will also consider whether to institute an interlocal agreement with the City of Lewisville for construction of a traffic light at Denton Tap and Highland.
The meeting will finish out with reports by Mayor Stover (who will provide both a Coppell 2030 update and a report on the Coppell Chamber meeting), followed by council committee reports to include the following:
* Carrollton/Farmers Branch ISD/Lewisville ISD – Tunnell
* Coppell ISD – Peters and Hinojosa-Flores.
* Coppell Seniors – Brancheau and Faught.
* Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition – Peters.
* DFW Airport Board – Peters.
* International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) – Brancheau
* Metrocrest Hospital Authority – Tunnell.
* Metrocrest Medical Foundation – Hunt.
* Metrocrest Medical Services – Hinojosa-Flores.
* Metrocrest Social Service Center – Hunt.
* North Texas Council of Governments – Peters.
* NTCOG/Regional Emergency Management – Franklin.
* North Texas Commission – Franklin.
* Senior Adult Services – Faught.
