Children’s Medical Center appoints new chief of emergency medicine
Children’s Medical Center has appointed Dr. Halim Hennes the hospital’s new chief of the Clinical Service of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Hennes, who earned his medical degree at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, comes to Children’s Medical Center from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was a professor of pediatrics and the associate director of Emergency Medicine Research Forum. Dr. Hennes, who brings more than 20 years of experience to Dallas, also will serve as the director of the Division of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Douglas Baker, the director of Medical Services at Children’s, noted the expertise Dr. Hennes has amassed throughout his career.
“He’s held a number of positions in the American Academy of Pediatrics section on emergency medicine, and he’s been nationally active in fellowship training for pediatric emergency medicine,” said Dr. Baker. “He has a tremendous wealth of experience and knowledge in the field and is one of the better known physicians in the field of pediatric emergency medicine.”
