LEWISVILLE Two public open houses will be conducted in September to update Denton County communities on the development of a passenger rail system in Denton County, according to Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) officials.
"We are at a significant design milestone for our future regional rail line, including completion of rail station designs," said Scott Neeley, Executive Vice President of Rail Development. "These forums provide the opportunity to bring people updated information, and showcase our current designs."
The open houses are open to anyone who wishes to attend. Displays showing renderings and designs of the rail line, stations, and other information will be available for viewing. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide additional information. No formal presentation is planned for the open houses. Attendees may come and go as they please.
Persons with hearing or sight interpretive service needs are asked to contact the DCTA at least two business days in advance of the open houses at 972-221-4600 or e-mail "info@dcta.net".
More information about the DCTA is available at this website.

GWAR / Kingdom of Sorrow / Toxic Holocaust Only lead singer Oderus Urungus (aka Dave Brockie) has stuck around since GWAR's start 23 years ago, but the huge costumes, raunchy and obscene lyrics, and fluids spraying into the audience are sure to be on full display as the metal band makes its return to Dallas. I've attended their meeting before, and it is very informative. A good way to keep up to date on their progress.

Just a reminder that the Denton meeting is tonight. If you go, come say hi to the geek with the portable recorder. (That'd be me.)
