No one at DART getting fired for hokey jewelry-selling scheme

There is some intense nonsense surrounding a scammy program within DART that allowed employees to buy jewelry via payroll deductions.

The jeweler, Premier Gems, is missing $60,000 in payments because the money was diverted to other expenses, namely, the 2007 holiday ball. A bunch of DART employees bought tickets to the ball but didn't ever pay, and auditors can't tell who paid and who didn't.

Does it seem odd that a semi-public agency even had a program in the first place where you could get paycheck deductions for jewelry? Is this the bling-iest agency ever? But according to the DMN, an audit found massive accounting problems that go way beyond this jewelry scheme. However, nobody's getting fired.
