Wingspan Theatre Company announces fall production of Ghosts

Wingspan Theatre Company, in cooperation with The Bath House Cultural Center will present the area premiere of Lanford Wilson’s translation of Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen.

In 1881, Henrik Ibsen rocked the literary and theatrical worlds with the publication of Ghosts, a play so controversial in it’s time. In this crackling new translation, celebrated American playwright, Lanford Wilson has revivified Ghosts for a new audience.

Ghosts takes us on a journey of suspense and intrigue. This is the story of a mother’s love, a father’s sins and a son’s terrible inheritance that has only grown more powerful with the passing of time. In the course of a day a family’s history will unravel before our eyes. Ghosts unveils a chilling series of revelations that chips away at traditional “family values” and cracks the very foundations of “decent society.”

The play will be directed by Sally Vahle. The acting ensemble includes: Susan Sargeant (Helen Alving), Bill Jenkins (Reverend Manders), Mike Schraeder (Oswald Alving), Francis Fuselier (Jakkob Engstrand) and Shauna McLean (Regina Engstrand). The production will be designed by: Clare Floyd DeVries/Scenic Design, Barbara C. Cox/Costume Design, Jason S. Foster/Lighting Design and Lowell Sargeant/Sound Design. The production Stage Manager is Traci Kaplan.

The pay-what-you-can performances are on Wednesday, October 8th/Preview, Thursday, October 9th/Opening, and Thursday, October 16th. There will be two post-show talkbacks on Friday, October 17th and Friday, October 24th.
