Fort Worth ISD student burned on monkey bars
Metal playground equipment can heat up to 160 degrees on a hot day.
Tri'Shonia Smith-Kelly burned the palms of her hands after grasping onto some metal monkey bars at Christene C. Moss Elementary in Fort Worth ISD. The skin on her right hand peeled off while her left hand blistered. Both of her hands are bandaged.
According to the WFAA piece, metal playground equipment in 100 degree weather can heat up to 160 degrees. Of course, anyone from the era where all playground equipment was metal and sharp and pointy knows this all too well.

Owwie! Ok, Tri'Shonia's grandma sounds cool. Any chance she's available as a consultant?

Wow, a kid gets injured and nobody sues anyone.
Are we seeing the beginnings of a bright new utopia, perhaps ushered in by kind grandmothers?
