After a holiday break, this week's council meeting has an extra plump agenda. The Fort Worth City Council Meeting will take place Tuesday at 7 pm at City Hall. Some of the items include the following:
- Fort Worth will authorize the use of revenue from the gas wells for water and sewer improvements at Spinks Airport. (Good to know they aren't spending all that natural gas money on women and booze.)
- The city is spending almost $1.5 million on Red Light Cameras.
- There are two more public hearings concerning gas well sites, one for a new site and one to add another well to an existing site. These are 293 West Bonds Ranch Road (existing) and 3849 Hemphill Street (new). There is also a public hearing to convert part of Marion Sansom Park into a gas valve station for pipelines.
- This week the city is purchasing portable classrooms and an elevated surveillance system for the Police Department, fire hydrant meters and manhole covers.
- The city will continue the discussion on putting a pipeline along the Eastside of Alton Road crossing Bellaire Drive South, West Berry Street, Westcliff Road South, Hilltop Drive, West Biddison Street and South Hills Avenue. They will also be authorizing pipelines in the following locations: across Bowman Roberts Road Located Approximately 465 Feet South of Cromwell Marine Creek Road, across Marine Creek Parkway, across Bolt Street Located about 33 feet west of May Street with a second crossing at Mason Street about 140 Feet West of Fry Street, and across Silver Creek Road. If you live around these areas and are concerned about pipelines in your neighborhood, you may want to attend the meeting.
