Project X: Theatre partners with Limehouse Theater, the Athens, Ohio based theater company to proudly present their hit show Hallucinogenic Toreador, a show about Salvador Dali, by Dallas based playwright John Flores. After receiving rave reviews this past May at the Prague International Fringe Festival, Limehouse is proud to collaborate with ProjectX: Theatre to bring this lively performance to Dallas.
Hallucinogenic Toreador is an exploration of Dali’s most autobiographical painting. It is a spontaneous, irrational, systematic performance that combines images, text and action in an effort to express but never explain Dali’s persona and the ongoing manifestations of his own creative process as fractured and fragmented through the many facets of Dadaism, Cubism, Freudian Theory, Surrealism and ultimately, Dali-ism.
Limehouse Theater is a new company that is quickly making waves in the theatrical community both here in the US and abroad. Created by Ohio University MFA directors Elenna Mosoff (Toronto, Canada) and Dallas Fort-Worth local Vanessa Mercado Taylor, the company seeks to explore the diversity of experiences in the world by creating work that is a reflection of universal truths and unites us in our humanity. By working together with international artists, nurturing individuality and formulating questions about their impact on the world, Limehouse uses non-traditional processes and performance to shatter the current theatrical paradigm.
Tickets are $10 at the door and the production runs from December 4 - 13.

I would like to see this event, while who is really, in Dallas... into these kinds of arts events or into this kind of venue,.... old Dali and his Andrea' Bretons, who by the way fired Dali from the art scene in 1947...."some artist hype is boring" he said, oh well this could be new light on Dali with a twist of the bull...A/T, Hello Dali.

As a Dali, and indeed dada and surreal, aficionado I only wish I could be there to see it. Too bad it could not come to Alabama, or even Atlanta, but I wanted others to know so I wrote a post, on my site, with the Pegasus News link to broaden the Dali fan base east of Texas!
Nice news service which I added to my Appetizers (links).
