Demonstration at Arlington City Hall today is expected to draw hundreds in support of sign toppers
At 5:30 Tuesday, hundreds of demonstrators organized by a new group called United Arlington Citizens are expected to gather at Arlington City Hall to show their support for a proposal of street sign toppers that will honor the city's minority communities. The toppers will honor Martin Luther King Jr., and Cesar Chavez as well as the city of Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) and the Muslim greeting Al-Salam. The council is set to continue discussions today at their City Council Meeting.

Jason Rice, says:
Why not sell space on these valuable street signs? I'm guessing $30 + manufacturing costs would narrow the field and allow for a thousand MLK / CC toppers if need be to make people happy - at someone's expense other than the taxpayer.
(Oh, and don't think the Dr. Pepper opportunity escapes us as advertising REALLY is all this is about, right?)
I just don't get people.
