Downtown Fort Worth campus of Tarrant County College names new VP for student development services

— Adrian Rodriguez, former dean of student life at Butler Community College in Kansas, has been named vice president for student development services for the Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus in downtown Fort Worth.

While at Butler Community College, Rodriguez implemented several new student programs, earning him the Board of Trustees Recognition Award for three consecutive years in 2005, 2006 and 2007. He also received the 2006 National Outstanding First Year Student Advocate Award, representing one of two community colleges to receive the honor.

Rodriguez’s record of service to students and faculty includes serving as a Phi Theta Kappa Certified Leadership Instructor and a member of the Leadership Butler Class of 2006. He also served two years as the chair of the United Way of El Dorado at Butler and two years as vice president and board member for Crimestoppers of El Dorado.

Rodriguez has completed coursework toward a Ph.D. at Kansas State University, has a master’s in educational administration from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and a bachelor’s in environmental design from Texas A&M University.
