For the third consecutive year, the readers of Global Traveler magazine have bestowed the honor of "Best Airline for Domestic First Class" upon American Airlines, a founding member of the oneworld(R) Alliance.
Global Traveler's annual GT Tested Awards program surveyed more than 31,400 business and leisure travelers to determine the best in business and luxury travel for 2008. The GT Tested Awards will be presented on Jan. 15, 2009, in Los Angeles.
"We're honored that the readers of Global Traveler have selected American Airlines as the winner for the best domestic First Class for the third year in a row," said Kurt Stache, Vice President and General Sales Manager at American Airlines. "This recognition reflects the commitment from American's employees to provide our domestic First Class customers with a positive travel experience.
"We know that each day, we have to compete for and win the loyalty of our business travelers. We strive to differentiate ourselves from competitors by investing in products, service and network enhancements that make the travel experience convenient, reliable and productive," Stache said.
Global Traveler conducted an open-ended reader survey from Jan. 1, 2008, to Aug. 31, 2008, to determine the best in many categories of business and luxury travel. Only those questionnaires with at least 50 percent completed were counted and entries from employees of the magazine or individuals associated with the travel industry were not accepted. The December issue of Global Traveler features American's "Best Airline for Domestic First Class" recognition along with other travel-related awards.
"For the third year in a row, our readers have voted American Airlines for Best Domestic First Class," said Francis X. Gallagher - Publisher and CEO of Global Traveler. "I believe this is a testament to the quality, consistency and excellence of the American Airlines service and brand. I am pleased and honored to congratulate such a fine airline on a well-deserved win!"
