Wet Zone Family Water Park in Rowlett has new manager and offers “Early Bird” registration package

ROWLETT — Visiting an outdoor water park may not be on anyone’s holiday activity list right now, but the City of Rowlett is already getting ready for the hot weather to return. The Wet Zone Family Water Park has a new manager and is offering an “Early Bird” registration package. Kyle Embry recently came on board as the new Water Park manager bringing more than nine years of diverse theme park experience to Rowlett. A graduate of the University Of Central Florida Rosen College Of Hospitality Management with a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management, Kyle began his theme park career with the Walt Disney World Company in 1999 where he worked in food and beverage and attraction operations at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Kyle left the company in 2002 to study international tourism at the University of Angers in France. In 2003, upon return to the United States, he began an internship with Universal Orlando where he worked as an attractions supervisor for seven attractions at Universal Studios as well as worked in the admissions department for both Universal Orlando parks.

Kyle is no stranger to the Dallas Fort Worth area. He graduated from McKinney High School and in 2004, accepted a job at Six Flags over Texas as a games supervisor. In 2005 he began an internship with the Walt Disney World Company as a Guest Service Manager at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Dinoland. After completing college, Kyle then took a position with SeaWorld Orlando as a lead in operations at Kraken and the Key West area.

Kyle left SeaWorld in early 2007 to join a theme park consulting company where he conducted feasibility studies and operational analyses for existing and proposed amusement attractions across the globe with the Baker Leisure Group where he also worked as the Assistant Director of Operations at Cypress Gardens.

The Wet Zone Family Water Park will officially open for business in May, but as a special holiday promotion, if you purchase your 2009 season pass between now and December 24, you will receive $10 worth of splash cash.
