Laptops stolen from Dallas City hall
Just when I was talking about creepers, some guy up and walked into Dallas City Hall and stole two laptop computers. The computers, which were actually taken on November 12, may have contained sensitive information, including correspondence between the city and the Department of Homeland Security.
How utterly ironic that Homeland Security information just happened to be contained on two computers that were stolen. Not so secure now, is it?

It was probably Mayor Tom Slicks nefarious plans to headquarter his evil criminal empire in the new Convention Hotel and make all the taxpayers pick up the check. Whoops..thats already a secret everyone knows ;)

It is astounding to know that such information is not encrypted (much less stored on an ordinary laptop) given then wide availability of encryption capabilities.

Yes, a totaly screwed up move on the part of the City and DHS not to have at least 128bit encryption on the system.
