Dallas Stars Mike Modano, Brett Hull, and Tim Headington to open restaurant in Dallas’ Uptown
DALLAS Hockey Stars Mike Modano & Brett Hull, Tim Headington and legendary restaurateur Eddie Cervantes will open Hully & Mo Restaurant & Tap Room featuring chef-driven American comfort food.
The sports-inspired restaurant will reflect a neighborhood feel with Texas Hill Country limestone, custom-designed black & brown leather booths, dark woods, open theater kitchen, and tap room lounge.
Located in the heart of Uptown at 2800 Routh Street, the restaurant is scheduled to open in December in the spot previously occupied by Riccardi's.
According to Cervantes, who opened Moctezuma's in Dallas in 1981, and founded of Primo’s on McKinney Avenue (which he sold last year), "We have created a chef-driven menu featuring traditional American comfort food. We will offer a neighborhood-friendly menu with variety so that customers will want to join us several times a week," he said.
The restaurant will feature an open kitchen theater so that customers may watch lunch and dinner preparation. The "American favorites" menu will range from pastas, salads, ribs, homemade soups and pizzas to a variety of sliders, cut-to-order steaks and seafood. French fries and breads will be made from scratch daily.
Hully & Mo will house a front patio, a private dining room, a restaurant with a large Texas Hill Country limestone bar and a tap lounge with a dark stone bar and courtyard view of fountains.
A VIP leather booth will seat large groups, and a curtained table will offer privacy for national celebrities and special occasion diners.
The dramatic entrance boasts of modern glass backlit with multicolored lights and murals of sports legends. The entrance doors will be custom designed with hockey sticks as pulls.
Once inside, Modano & Hull's awards and trophies are on display in a glass case. Unique football, baseball, hockey, basketball, and other sports memorabilia will decorate walls throughout the restaurant.
Designed by Tyler Duncan of the Duncan Design Group, the comfortable decor will reflect a relaxing atmosphere with custom-designed black & Godiva brown leathers. Texas Hill Country limestone will be the focal point of the front bar with several televisions inset in the limestone. Other televisions including drop-down big screens are strategically positioned throughout the restaurant and patio.
The tap room lounge offers a neighborhood "place to hang out" with imported beers, specialty cocktails and a premium wine list served from the lounge bar designed with dark stone and warm woods. The restaurant lunch and dinner menus will be served in the lounge.
The restaurant and lounge can accommodate corporate, special occasion and sports team events, and will be open for lunch and dinner seven days per week. Reservations will be accepted for groups of eight or more. The phone number is 214-954-0203.

Way to go! I can't wait, sad that Riccardi's has left, Anita was a very nice lady who ran that place. Modano and Hull will do great there. Brings back memories of the opening of 8.0 Bar back in the 1980's right next door in the Quadrangle. Good luck guys, I'll be there when you open!

At least they have the fortitude to open a restaurant in this economy. Must be kind of a scary gamble for them. Sounds like a place to take my sports junkie friends when they come to town.

Don’t be disturbed if you see a girl with her nose pressed to the window while you are trying to eat your comfort food. That will be me looking for Fabian Brunnstrom.
Ok fine – be disturbed.

I've missed jtm's stalkerish ways!
Needs elaboration on what taps will be in the Tap Room, and corresponding drink specials. =)
