Kay Bailey Hutchison gets closer to governor seat in Texas
Kay Bailey Hutchison announced a few months ago that she would not seek re-election for her U.S. Senate seat. This, of course, frees her up to run for Texas governor when Rick Perry is called back to the mothership in 2010 (or beat in the election, either way).
On Thursday, Hutchison made her intentions official by filing papers establishing an exploratory committee for her governor run. As of September 30, Hutchison had $8.6 million in her federal budget, which she can use for the impending campaign.

Well I am sorry, but she has never been friendly to me in public, even at a company party she was cold and short with me, so "poot" on her running for governor. Everytime I see her on the news, I remember how she acted towards me. Now to see her as the new governor, ummppfffff!Poot!

I voted for her husband for governor in '78 but Bill Clements swept the table. Not sure we have any governor-worthy politicos any more. But I'm glad to have her out of the Senate. I knew Lloyd Bentsen, and she's no Lloyd Bentsen.
