Dallas-based Lambert Landscape Company adds Bruce Blevins as Senior Gardener
DALLAS Bruce Blevins, a recent hire at Lambert Landscape Company, adds another dimension to the already experienced horticultural team as the new Senior Gardener.
“The passion and expertise provided by Bruce is important to our successful care of the area’s finest gardens. His training of our dedicated horticultural service team in both time- honored and new, innovative gardening techniques is highly valued and frankly expected by our wonderful and faithful clients and friends,” said Dan Morgan, Lambert’s CEO and director of garden services.
In 1978, after graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University with a Religion degree, Blevins completed a Horticultural Apprenticeship at the Carmel Garden Project in New Market, Virginia. During this two-year apprenticeship he worked with Alan Chadwick, the renowned English horticulturist. Since that time, he has worked “with the widest array of landscape plants and had supervisory and design positions on a variety of horticultural maintenance and developmental projects,” Blevins noted.
Most recently, Blevins was a Landscape Designer and Project Manager for Rohsler’s Allendale Nursery in Allendale, New Jersey. Before that he worked as an Estate Horticulturist on a large property in northern Westchester County, New York. His past endeavors include serving as Director of Glasshouse Propagation with The New York Botanical Garden.
“I am a dedicated plantsman with a considerable amount of experience in many aspects of horticultural work but I especially love and excel at developing and caring for well-designed gardens,” Blevins said.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2009, Lambert’s is the oldest design/build landscape architectural firm in Dallas and one of the third oldest still in existence in the country with Garden Management and Tree Care divisions that focus on residential gardens of timeless designs.
