Dallas-based Match.com has best month ever in November

10

— During November, Match.com experienced its largest membership growth over the last seven years. The combination of a new matching service, the Daily5, and the daily drumbeat of bad economics sent consumers to Match.com looking for love.

With the launch of the Daily5, which introduces five new matches daily to every member, Match.com members initiated 400,000 more connections with other members this November compared to last November. And despite the five-year low the stock market hit in mid-November, Match.com saw its third busiest weekend of the year.

"During these trying times, people are looking for hope in their inbox and they are finding it on Match.com," said Thomas Enraght-Moony, CEO of Match.com. "It's encouraging to see so many more people communicating as a result of the recent changes we've made to the service. We hope to find further ways to improve Match.com to create more connections and more great relationships."

Needless to say, the economy is forcing those who would normally seek one mate to match with, are now seeking several for a better "incorporated" experience.

The Daily5 should be retitled Daliy Rejects.

Haven't seen a profile on there yet for anyone I'd let rotate my tires let alone go out to dinner with.

~sigh~

I hear JRice is looking for another...He's already got one to cover the light bill and probably most of the water, but help with gas and that mortgage would be awesome.

Except Diller announced last month his intention to break up IAC into 5 companies, with board approval. Match would co-exist with Ask, Bloglines, CitySearch, IAC Advertising Solutions, Evite and Shoebuy.

Ticketmaster owns Match.com. That's enough reason for me not to ever want to bother with Match.com.
