An "FOJ" (Friend of Jason, silly!) sends this note:

Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives will be coming to Twisted Root Burger Company next month to showcase Jason Boso and the restaurant. The show should air in the Spring lineup.

That will be good timing since the Richardson branch of Twisted Root Burger Company is slated to open tentatively in February or March 2009. Boso just finished his physical therapy last Friday, after his accident in Deep Ellum.

UPDATE: Twisted Root's appearance will be on Monday, April 27 at 9 p.m., on an episode entitled "A Burger, A Bowl and a Slice," along with an Arizona pizza joint serving up family recipes and a Seattle chili shack.

I watch DDD religously. Twisted RBC is not up to the standards of most all other restaurants featured on DDD. My bet is that once Jason Boso visits this place and sees it is no big deal, the show won't air.

Bobdon000, I have a feeling Jason Boso will quite like Twisted Root Burger Company.

@bobdon000: Jason Boso is one of the creators of the restaurant. Why wouldn't he like it? Stop posting stupid things.

That is great! Avila's Mexican Restaurant on 4714 Maple Avenue in Dallas will be featured on the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Filming will be in January and the episode will air in November of 09'. I recommend getting over to Avila's, it is a great place!

Crazy that it takes almost a year for the episode to go on air. I wonder how many episodes are filmed but never broadcast because the restaurant goes out of business in the meanwhile.

If he is one of it's creators then I hope he discloses that fact on the show.

They make a good hamburger. But everything else there sucks. Their french fries are horrible. Thier onion rings mediocre.

The place is over rated.

Is anything served at TRB fresh?

I doubt that they grind their own burger meat.

They probably don't fresh cut the fries. They certainly don't double cook them.

Bob, I disagree with your opinion, but you're entitled to it. However, I think you're misinterpreting what's going on -- as far as I know, Jason Boso has nothing to do with the show on which Twisted Root will be featured. The series is hosted by a person named Guy Fieri.

And Fieri has better taste than his endorsements would lead you to believe:

your right Alex.....

I don't think Buy Fieri will be impressed with TRB. I bet the taping doesn't get air time.

There is nothing extraordinary about TRB...at least not compared to the other places represented in DDD segments.

Guy will prolly enjoy this joint, as they have fried stuff and beer.

I still haven't tried this place, although I have driven by it a million times. And Chris is right..Fieri will dig it..fried stuff and hopefully different enough to draw some good attention.

We've been a few times and I'm still not blown away like some fans. If the patties are made in house, they feel processed and frozen. The fries, especially the curlies, feel straight out of the bag.

I would say that aesthetically it makes for good photography with the chalkboard, busted concrete and 'fun' names. It's ok, but I can't love it.

While i've never had the fries (which everyone here seems to hate), their sweet potato chips are really good. And so are their special pickles in the huge jar. And if i remember correctly, their homemade ice cream makes a really great milkshake.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I like the turkey and buffalo burgers, sweet potato chips work well and they make a damn good milkshake. Only thing id change is the hours at night.

Wow. Is everyone just maturing around me? How is it that no one has given Collin crap about his love of special pickles?

btw,I think Market Diner on Harry Hines would have been an awesome choice for the show. Local character and awesome food.
