ONSTAGE in Bedford announces 2009 season

ONSTAGE in Bedford is finishing out their current season with the holiday show, A Christmas Story, but they are already gearing up for the new year. Season tickets ($54-135) for the 2009 season are available online or by calling 817-354-9010. The order includes a punch card that can be used for 6 shows. The ticket provides flexibility to attend the shows of choice, by date and time.

Here is the lineup:

  • The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas from January 30th - February 21. Book By Larry L. King ad Peter Masterson, music and lyrics by Carol Hall. High kicking fun ensues when Miss Mona Stangly and Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd take on TV reporter Melvin P. Thorpe and his crusade to close down Texas' most famous brothel, "The Chicken Ranch".
  • Footlight Frenzy from March 20 - April 4. Written by Ron House, Diz White, Alan Shearman, and Bud Slocomb. Zany comedy - when PTA and a washed up Broadway director undertake an amibitious fundraiser benefit play in a desperate attempt to save the school.
  • A Midsummers Night's Dream from April 17 & 24. By William Shakespeare. Magical, enchanting tale weaving star struck lovers, ambitious clowns and misadventurous woodland fairies.
  • One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest from May 8 - 23. Written by Dale Wasserman. Hilarious and touching story when a small time crook gets the judge to commit him to a mental institution to aviod prison time, and gets much more than he bargained for....
  • Alice in Wonderland from June 19 - 28. A Youth Production, written by Lewis Carroll. The charming tale of Alice in Wonderland comes to life on stage with a fresh new look and style. Alice sets about her journey and soon discovers, this isn't her mothers wonderland.
  • Man of La Mancha from August 14 - September 5. Book By Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh, lyrics by Joe Darion. A poignant story of a dying old man whose impossible dream takes over his mind. Based on Cervantes "Don Quixote", The Man of La Mancha speaks for humankind.
  • Running in Red from October 16 - 31. Written by Karl Tiedemann. Crazy comedy about the 1934 vaudeville stage team of Jerry and Eve breaking into their own radio show.
  • Duck Hunter Shoots Angel from December 4 - 19. Regional Premiere, written by Mitch Albom. A washed up writer for a tabloid is sent to cover the story about two hunters who believe they've shot an angel. An uproarious story that interweaves love, sibling rivalry, the tawdry media and cultural stereo types into a crescendo of comedy.
