Addison Studio Movie Grill teams with Horror Remix for a winter-themed fright show blowout
On Tuesday night, Dec. 16, there'll be more than gift giving on the minds of film-goers filtering into the Studio Movie Grill in Addison. (Unless you count handing someone their freshly-extracted liver on a platter as "gift-giving.")
That's because on that night, at 10 p.m., the Addison SMG will screen the latest conglomeration of carnage and carnality from the folks at Horror Remix, dubbed "You Better Watch Out."
This two hour program features the edited-for-extraneous-content best parts of three holiday-themed horror schlock-fests from the 1980's: Iced (a.k.a. Blizzard of Blood), Christmas Evil (referred to by John Waters as "the greatest Christmas movie ever made") and Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 - because Part 1 apparently wasn't bad enough.
(The IMDB plot keywords for this last opus are: "Exploding Car / Female Nudity / Nipples / Wrath / Attraction." Need more be said? If so, we'll let someone else say it.)
Think of the presentation as a cinematic fillet from which the useless fat and gristle (in the form of ill-advised attempts at character development and backstory) have been surgically excised, leaving only the axe-chopping, knife-slashing, naked babe goodness.
There's just one other thing I should mention about this especially grisly holiday treat: admission is FREE!, but don't despair for the livelihood of the Studio Movie Grill folks: they plan to make back any loss in ticket revenue from food and beverage sales, which attendees are almost certain to spring for over the course of the screening.
