DART announces holiday schedules for bus and rail service around Dallas

Most DART and Trinity Railway Express (TRE) services will operate on adjusted schedules for Christmas and New Year's. The latest DART route and schedule information is always available at DART.org.

Wednesday December 24

• DART – Weekday schedule

• TRE – Modified Saturday schedule, see site for details

• HOV – Weekday schedule

• Paratransit – DART Paratransit Services for customers with disabilities will operate on a holiday schedule. Customers may call to schedule service for Thursday, Dec. 25 through Monday, Dec. 29. Customers should call 214-515-7272 and choose Option 3 to schedule their trip. Next day scheduling is also available using X-Press Booking.

Thursday December 25

• DART – Sunday schedule

• TRE – No service

• HOV – The high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-30 (East R.L. Thornton), on I-30 West (Tom Landry Freeway), the reversible S-ramp at the southern end of the I-35E (Stemmons) HOV lane, the direct connector ramp between the US 75 and I-635 HOV lanes, and the section of the I-35E/US 67 (South R. L. Thornton/Marvin D. Love) HOV lanes from downtown Dallas to Loop 12 will all be closed. The remaining portion of the I-35 (Stemmons) HOV lanes, the I-635 (LBJ) HOV lanes, the US 75 (Central Expressway) HOV lanes, and the I-35E/US 67 HOV lanes from Loop 12 to Camp Wisdom Road will be open 24 hours a day as usual.

• Paratransit – Services for customers with disabilities will operate on a holiday schedule. The DART Paratransit Scheduling Center will also be closed. Regular subscription trips are canceled. Next day scheduling is available using X-Press Booking.

Friday December 26

• DART – Saturday schedule

• On Friday, Dec. 26, bus routes 202, 204/247, 206 and 283 will operate limited service. Routes 204 and 247 will operate on a combination schedule between North Carrollton Transit Center, Farmers Branch Park & Ride and Downtown Dallas. Customers should look for the Rider Alert on DART vehicles or at DART facilities or visit the Current Rider Alert section of www.DART.org for details. Other than the express routes listed above, routes that don't ordinarily operate on Saturdays will not operate on Friday.

• TRE – Modified Saturday schedule, see site for details

• HOV – Weekday schedule

• Paratransit – Regular service. DART Paratransit Customers can call Friday Dec. 26, to schedule a trip up to Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Wednesday December 31

• DART – Weekday schedule

• TRE – Modified Saturday schedule, see site for details.

• HOV – Weekday schedule

• Paratransit – Holiday schedule. Customers may call to schedule service for Thursday Jan. 1 through Monday Jan. 5.

Additional DART Rail, TRE service for Winstar Casino’s Big D NYE’09 at Victory Plaza

• DART Rail trains for the Stars hockey game also will provide service to the Big D NYE '09 event. Trains will operate between Victory Station and West End Station every 30 minutes throughout the evening until 1:15 a.m. Last trains depart from Victory Station at 1:15 a.m. The last trains from Victory Station will provide direct service to Parker Road Station and Downtown Garland Station.

• A special westbound TRE train leaves 20 minutes after the fireworks at Big D NYE '09.

Thursday January 1

• HOV – All HOV lanes will be open on area highways except the eastbound and westbound I-30 (East R.L. Thornton) HOV lanes to accommodate the heavy main-lane Cotton Bowl traffic.

• Paratransit – Regular service. Customers can call on Friday, Jan. 2, and schedule up to Tuesday, Jan. 6.

DART administrative offices will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day while the Customer Information Center will be closed on Christmas Day only. Customers needing schedule information New Year’s Day can call DART's Customer Information Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 214-979-1111.
