Discount grocer Aldi confirms some locations in Dallas area
Aldi, the German-owned discount grocer that's a cousin to cult grocer Trader Joe's, confirmed some of its locations including one at Gaston and Haskell avenues in Dallas. Other locations: two stores in Garland, two in Dallas and one each in Richardson, Plano, Pantego, and Rowlett.
Aldi which is owned by the same company that owns specialty grocer Trader Joe's, will ultimately open 25+ stores in Dallas-Fort Worth in spring 2010. It has more than 1,000 stores in 29 states.

yes, me too. This is not the same concept at all.
This is more about one kind of green beans, one kind of whatever in pallets. No question the cost is extremely low, just no choice. Not every category is there, it is definitely bare bones. I think I remember that you pay a quarter to use a cart while you are in the store.
Trader Joe's has lots of items and categories, and lots of their own labels. Great shopping, lots of specialty items....I want a Trader's Joe here in Dallas now that you bring it up.
