The holidays are fast upon us, and we've got all the events you can jingle a bell at, including a growing list for your New Year's planning pleasure. Schools: In the superintendent shuffles this week, one district re-upped while another saw a resignation-in-lieu-of-firing ... Parents in Rowlett don't like Rent.

Pegasus Picks for the weekend
- Brave Combo hosts a Holiday Dance Party in Fort Worth.
- The Door is getting bigger shows these days: Eagles of Death Metal (and associated opening acts).
- There are several gallery opening receptions.
- Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison are putting on their annual holiday show at the Granada, but be sure not to miss the opener, Justin Townes Earl (son of Steve).
- Should be great weather for the White Rock Marathon.
- The Art Conspiracy has its 4th annual fundraiser with local bands and "deconstructed" works from more tha 150 local artists.
- Ice Cube and Pikahsso/Tahiti on the same stage. Wow.
- This is one of the biggest day for Christmas parades, lightings and other merriments.
- The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is telling Christmas stories all weekend.
- HOB features a songwriters showcase with Roger Creager, Willie Braun, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Max Stalling and more.
