Theater Spotlight of the Week: Adam Dietrich
Interview with Adam Dietrich, Founder of The Butterfly Connection
With the plethora of Christmas shows invading DFW, the innovative Butterfly Connection has decided to not go the Christmas Carol route, but instead present a completely new show for the community: Reindeers Unplugged. I got a chance to feature director Adam Dietrich this week, who also happens to be the founder of the theater company.
We start by discussing the founding of The Butterfly Connection and how it ended up here in the DFW community. He talks about the niche it fills, what makes it so unique, and their mission to use all types of art. I also question him on the origin of the title of the theater company.

I ask how Reindeers Unplugged originated and what attracted the company to perform this holiday show. He discusses the plot and the collaborative process with all the designers and writers.
He talks about what sets this show apart from the regular Xmas shows and how this production should be a new tradition for families. Finally, he ends by talking about what he wants the audience to walk away with.
Reindeers Unplugged runs from December 12 -21 and follows the journey of some light up lawn furniture as they try and save one of their own from the Big Green Monster (The Dump Truck). Purchase tickets online or by calling 817-333-4028.
