Local football teams will help Toys for Tots
Last Saturday, in a defense of home turf, the Fort Worth Avengers of the Texas United Football League knocked off the Houston Texas Colts 31-0 in an exhibition game and collected 10 boxes of toys for the Marines' Toys for Tots program. This Saturday, December 13, those TUFL teams are at it again with their Second Annual Marines Toys for Tots Charity Bowl. In a football trifecta, six teams from the TUFL will compete in three games looking to raise toys for the Marines Toys for Tots program.
Three teams from North Texas, the Stampede, the Avengers and the Bullets will playing in the games. The Stampede and the Bullets will headline the evening game. The Avengers will play in the afternoon game with the first game beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 or a donation of an original, unwrapped toy valued at $7 or greater.
What better way to spend the evening than watching football in a family atmosphere for a great deal with a chance to help some needy kids in the DFW area? The games will be played in Bedford at Pennington Field.
