North Texas Regional Transportation Council approves Rail North Texas plan
The loose confederation of local transportation agencies can now go to Austin and talk commuter rail turkey.
After bickering amongst themselves on the details of how existing transit authorities would figure into the administrative mix, a Rail North Texas plan has been approved (as of Thursday, Dec. 11) by the Regional Transportation Council, opening the way for a unified front when members travel to Austin (by rail?) to ask for state funding.
Of course, all this progress towards a a region-wide commuter rail system will eventually mean that more money will be extracted (in some form or fashion) from the pockets of those of us residing in the area.
It's always something.

It's not THAT unified. Ask the Collin County Commissioners.
They're not buying it.

Despite the bickering, if that is the deal, the whole concept of trains should continue, while it is maintance of the road that has train people Concerned, it is how fast will the train go and who will board the metal vessel to point to point...until then...A/T, Love the Rails.
