Maryland wins national soccer title at Pizza Hut Park
The University of Maryland men's soccer team took the NCAA national title on Sunday afternoon at Pizza Hut Park. Facing off against the University of North Carolina, the Terps claimed their third championship in program history, second in four years.
Senior Graham Zusi once again came through for his team, scoring the match's lone goal. In the 67th minute, Maryland's Jeremy Hall took a shot on goal from inside the penalty box which was blocked by a UNC defender. The ball rebounded right to Zusi's feet, who one-touched a very composed shot to the lower left netting. UNC appeared to kick into panic mode following the goal and were only able to put together one serious attempt on goal, blocked by freshman keeper Zac MacMath.
