New car and truck sales in Dallas-Fort Worth area dropped 40% in November
Sales of new cars and trucks in Dallas-Fort Worth dropped by 39.8% dive in November, the biggest decline in a single month since 1985-1986.
Nationally, sales dropped by 36.7%.
Banks have become a lot more conservative and less willing to give generous loans than they used to be. These days, they'll only finance 80% of the price of a car, requiring customers to make a down payment or trade-in.

I wonder how long the GM plant in Arlington will remain open. I believe they're shutting down a plant up North because they build the same vehicles as the Arlington plant. That means the Arlington plant ought to be pretty low on the list of shutdowns.
Still, they build SUV's. There's even less of a market for them.
