Denton musician Doug Burr releasing new album soon
As I mentioned a while back, the excellent Doug Burr from Denton is soon releasing an LP that consists of songs inspired by The Psalms. As high as my expectations are for this disc, I am certain that the disc will exceed those almost unfair expectations. The Shawl (Spune/Velvet Blue) comes out digitally next week and the hard copy will roll out next month.
Burr has also released a video for “Should’ve Known” from his stellar 2007 disc On Promenade. It floored me when I first watched it.

I can't wait for this cd. Doug performed some of these pieces as Artist in Residence at Club Dada over a year ago. It was an extraordinary experience. I watched a bar full of people stop what they were doing, and sit in silence for the music. It's that wonderful.
