WaterTower Theatre continues its 2008-2009 season with the award-winning musical Violet. With a book and lyrics by Brian Crawley and music by Jeanine Tesori, Violet will run January 15 – February 1, 2009.
When Violet was 13 years old, a tragic accident left her scarred for life. Now an adult, she must embark on a cross-country pilgrimage to find a cure for her ailment - a journey that will reconcile the tragic events of her past with the harsh realities of her present. Boasting a score that mixes country, bluegrass and R&B, Violet is the story of one woman’s healing journey to discover love, courage, and the meaning of acceptance.
WTT’s production of Violet will feature Stacey Oristano as Violet. For the past three seasons, Ms. Oristano has been a featured regular on NBC’s Friday Night Lights, appearing as Mindy Collette, the pole dancing sister of lead character Tyra. Other television appearances include Chapelle’s Show and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. Locally, she has received a Column Award and a Leon Rabin Award Nomination for her role as Hope Cladwell in WTT’s Urinetown. Other WTT appearances include Ravenscroft, Sweeney Todd, I Hate Hamlet, and Enter the Guardsman.
The cast will also consist of Philip Bentham, Chimberly Carter, Sonny Franks, Markus Lloyd, Luke Longacre, Paul Taylor, Wendy Welch and Ruby Westfall. Scenic design is by Andy Redmon; lighting design is by Jason S. Foster. Costume design is by Michael A. Robinson.
Violet will run Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the WTT Box Office at 972-450-6232.

ScoDo - big advantage of a Matinee Date, you can skimp on dinner ' cause it's mid-afternoon. You can just drive through and grab a milkshake... except Addison has no drive-thrus. Curses!

Scott Doyle, says:
I picked up a picnic basket at an estate sale the other day. If she can't appreciate the savings of a picnic versus the check somewhere remotely respectable, I'm pretty sure it won't last.

Hadn't counted on this, but in this strategy, natural selection could create an army of Doyles. Egad!
