Former Dallas mayoral candidate Jennifer Gale found dead near UT campus in Austin

Jennifer Gale, 47, a former Marine and transgendered woman who ran for Dallas mayor most recently in 2007, was found dead near the University of Texas campus in Austin on Wednesday morning. Gale, who ran for office numerous times in Dallas and Austin, was found in front of the First English Lutheran Church by fire officials who received a 911 call but were unable to revive her. The cause of death has not been determined. (And this story says she was 44, which is what she had on her MySpace page.)

So what was the cause of death? The article says she was homeless; was she just caught out in the bad weather?

John McClelland, says:

She was sleeping outside according to the Statesman article, but the way the story went it seemed like she was ok the first time the person checked on her, but not on the second go around.

I hope she finds peace. She was a brave woman with an amazing smile. I am sad that the inbred Rod Dreher Heads over at DMN find it necessary to place such jugement on her. That paper really sucks ass big time.

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!) Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace, And saw, within the moonlight in his room, Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom, An Angel writing in a book of gold:

Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold, And to the Presence in the room he said, "What writest thou?" The Vision raised its head, And with a look made of all sweet accord Answered, "The names of those who love the Lord."

"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so," Replied the Angel. Abou spoke more low, But cheerily still; and said, "I pray thee, then, Write me as one who loves his fellow men."

The Angel wrote, and vanished. The next night It came again with a great wakening light, And showed the names whom love of God had blessed, And, lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest!

God bless those who dare to be real and really care.

BootDuck, Help me understand what you refer to re: Dreher and DMN per Ms. Gale.

Jennifer was a good person with a good soul, I have a feeling shes at peace now...

I also agree with Boot, the right-wing mutants they allow to post on the DMN site are disrepectful and also quite crude in their comments...must be the same idiots who take a home subscription as well.
