— During its 5th annual “Share the Warmth” Blanket Drive, Sleep Experts collected more than 3,000 blankets, sheets, comforters, pillows and towels, to be delivered to The Family Place today. The November drive came to a close with a substantial donation of bedding and bath linens valued at more than $20,000 from Dallas-based Peacock Alley.

“We have been overwhelmed by the number of families who came out to Sleep Experts locations across the Metroplex to donate items, demonstrating that the spirit of giving is alive and well in North Texas, despite these tough economic conditions,” said Christine Cook, president, Sleep Experts. “Through their generosity, and the amazing donation from Peacock Alley, we are able to provide this simple but essential gift of warmth to thousands of families in crisis.”

“The holidays are a particularly difficult time of year for victims of family violence,” said Paige Flink, executive director, The Family Place. “On behalf of the many families in our shelter and in transitional housing, we are so grateful to Sleep Experts, Peacock Alley, and the people of Dallas who came out to ‘share the warmth’ this year.”

“To play even a small role in bringing comfort to families in crisis is humbling. Creating a safe, warm environment is a critical need for everyone. We are honored to join with Sleep Experts and their passionate commitment to family and community,” said Mary Ella Gabler, founder and chief executive officer, Peacock Alley.

Sleep Experts is a third-generation mattress retailer servicing the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and offering a broad selection of traditional and specialty sleep brand names, including Simmons, Beautyrest, Spring Air, Back Supporter, Tempur-Pedic, ComforPedic and Air Number.
