Legendary former TCU quarterback Sammy Baugh dies
Sammy Baugh
Slingin' Sammy Baugh, the Hall of Fame quarterback who played for TCU and for the Washington Redskins in the NFL, has died at 94. Baugh had had multiple health issues in recent years, including being afflicted with Alzheimer's, liver problems and pneumonia.
Baugh played at TCU from from 1934-1937, starring in baseball and basketball as well as football. He was a two-time All-American and led the Horned Frogs to victories in the Sugar Bowl and Cotton Bowl (back when the Cotton Bowl actually meant something). As a pro, he led the Redskins to five NFL title games, winning two.

"Slinging" Sammy was a part of a magical time in football. He was big during the time in which the little orphans from Fort Worth were making their mark. God Bless "Slinging" Sammy Baugh!
