Home foreclosures in Dallas area expected to be up by 11% in January 2009
Lots of homes -- more than 4,000 -- are expected to go into foreclosure in January 2009, according to Foreclosure Listing Service in Addison. Compared to one year ago, that's an 11% jump. It's worst in Collin County, where foreclosures are up by 18%; by comparison, Dallas' increase is 8%. Hopefully some of that can be prevented if homeowners can make some kind of arrangement with their lenders. The year 2008 overall had a 17% increase up from 2007, with more than 50,000 foreclosures.
