Arlington man suspected in murder of wife arrested
43-year-old Clifford James Caldwell of Arlington was arrested in connection with the December 21, 2008 murder of his wife, 36-year-old Tanya Caldwell. Caldwell is being held in the Arlington jail on murder charges with a $100,000.00 bond. Caldwell discussed his role in Tanya's death with investigators.
On Sunday, December 21 at approximately 9:45 a.m., Arlington officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Forest Hollow Lane in the Forest Ridge Apartments for a death investigation. Three boys under the age of 9 went to a neighbor's apartment and said their mother was dead. The neighbor called police.
Homicide detectives have been looking for the victim's husband since the original call. The three boys have been staying with family. Cause of death will be determined by the Tarrant County Medical Examiners office. Detectives were able to locate the suspect and he agreed to come to the police station. The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, December 23, 2008.
