Yes, yes, I know that Christmas was YESTERDAY, dammit, but we're still within the thematic boundaries of the holiday, right? I mean, folks are out shopping at AFTER-Christmas sales (at least, retailers hope so), much of the workforce are still out on Christmas holiday (just check the parking lot at PegNews World HQ) and I'm betting that those relatives who crash in your living room every year at this time are still at work picking away at your Christmas feast leavings. (Plus, isn't it still like one of the twelve days of Christmas, when maids are milking or lords are leaping, or some such? I think it must be...)
Thus I don't feel too guilty posting a story about the five favorite Christmas movies selected by AFI Dallas programming honchos James Faust and Sarah Harris. To wit:
James' top five Christmas movies:
A Christmas Story
It's a Wonderful Life
Scrooged
Die Hard
Santa Claus is Coming to Town
Sarah's top five Christmas movies:
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Millions
Elf
Love, Actually
A Muppet Family Christmas
So, head on over to Blockbuster (or cue the Netflix stream), then kick back, put your feet up on the dirty dishes and fire up the DVD player while you can still get away with watching some of the old yuletide faves without risking familial ostracism.
Me? I'm still coming down from Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.
