Looking forward to 2009? So is a noted Dallas astrologer
... and you can check out her predictions for the coming year on the iMedia Network.
Airing on Dallas' iMedia channel (95 on the cable "dial") on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 11 p.m. - and then again on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. - is a cablecast episode of iN Dallas which brings together two local new-agers in an effort both to predict what's going to happen in the coming year, and to make it better on an individual health-related level.
The program, titled "2009 Global Predictions and Health, Wealth and Happiness in the New Year," features conversations with Vedic astrologer Joni Patry and "philantrhopist/healer" Laurie Sands Harrison.
The program will begin with astrological predictions for 2009, and continue by suggesting four steps that anyone can take to promote health, wealth and happiness in the coming year.
Turns out Joni made predictions at about this same time last year, so host Lisa Hembry will go over her track record prior to having Patry come up with predictions for the year to come, including prognostications relating to the economic crisis and the sputtering housing market. Ms. Sands Harrison will round out the program by filling us in on her personal experiences in regard to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and then unveil her plan to share "alternative healing modalities" with the viewing public as part of an upcoming iMedia-produced television series.
On that note, later tonight I'll be practicing an "alternative TV-watching modality" whereby I sit in front of said device while sleeping, and attempt to absorb transmitted wisdom subconsciously.
Wish me luck!

Yeah, going over a astrologer's track record is going to go over really well. I'm about to make some predictions of my own - extremely vague predictions about coming troubles turn out to have been true, while any specific prophecies - if any were made - will be completely ignored! Yay!
Oh god, why is this even a story.

The main problem with Vedic Astrology is that the time and configuration is done on Hindu and Eastern time theory, not Western time scale or Grenwich time theory... which is the present movement of planets in the star sky,and having the correct placement sign, interms of western movement since Keplers configurations, some 4oo years ago...Keep this detail in check, and what is in store, with out the hype of good or poor.....about Dallas...A/T.
Pavel - it's a story because it's the day after Christmas.

A.T. - I guess the other problem with Vedic Astrology (or any other form, I'll stick my neck out and opine) is that it doesn't work.

You can stick your neck out as I did here John, while I paid an astrolger some years back 50 bucks for a reading and later told me it was Vedic astrology, well I had a gal in Austin do my chart 20 years ago and she told me some very intresting things I found to be very useful, anyho...I just stick to one thing now...my stop watch..until then A/T. Friends don't let friends post drunk...
Suffice to say that SteveM shares Pavel's disdain for this posting.
I suggest you all go out and make some news, or tomorrow we'll do nothing but man on the street commentary on the weather.

I think on 'slow news days' that true Pegasusians should chronically post malicious rumors; like Pauly Shore and/or Tara Reid being seen at Javier's. With 'post-presidential progeny'. Doing shots. Of Midori. In tube tops. Braless. Visa declined but tab picked up by secret service guy. Who used to date Ashlee Simpson. In Guam.

I am back to what the New Year could be realized as from Tea leaves to Black Eye Peas, while a little superstition would help round out some humor, I felt this would be a fun comment to do on Astrology for the New Year.A/T....Humor the stars.

If anyone cares why I spent so many years this century going to Colombia for the holidays, here are a couple of reasons:
The singer is Cesar Mora...who only made one CD in the 90s and yet developed a cult following and happily is being rediscovered in his 50s...in a far happier Colombia than I knew then.....6 years after they finally had a wonderful president and a wind-down of a 40 year war...and the drug cartels run out of the country. Disfruta y salud!
The first version of 'Canela'. The second, recorded live...same song last week in Bogota. On the second---the live link...fast forward to the 2 minutes into the song because the first two minutes are 'intro'. Endless intro.
