Talented field due for Duncanville’s Meadows Basketball Tournament
A talented field will be competing in the 58th annual Sandra Meadows Varsity Basketball Tournament in Duncanville, Dec. 29-31.
The list of participants includes three teams from out of state and outstanding teams from across Texas.
It's the result of the hard work of the sponsoring Lions Club and, in particular, tournament chairman Steve Martin, who has set a goal of making this one of the premier tournaments in the nation.
Making return appearances from last year's field are Seton Keough of Baltimore, Md., Fayetteville, Ark., and Ouachita Parrish, La.
Last year's champions, Houston Westside, returns to defend its title, as does Houston Bellaire, which lost in the finals to Westside.
Others that played well here last year are third-place Duncanville, fourth-place Seton Keough, consolation champion Mesquite Horn, Silver Division winner Fayetteville and fifth-place winner Plano West.
